Wilf

An arrangement had been made to meet up with Wilf in the well known department store of Fenwick in Newcastle upon Tyne. This was at a time when one of our number was undergoing ‘the knife’ in a local hospital.  After a brief stay with the ‘patient’ he joined us on our return journey home to Japan.

Toby

Toby’s the bear that volunteers to stay with you when you’re depressed and alone. Perhaps after a bereavement or during an illness - which happened to a friend in his early years. He comforted during many nights of pain and torment, finally to be released when his work was done. Now he’s ‘in retirement’ and finally at home with the other bears, safe and sound.

Hef and Larry, these partying kind of bears were gifted to us by American friends some considerable time ago, so we don’t know much about their origins. They came from America, though, and they certainly like to party. Any excuse and there they are… They’ve been lobbying hard for all bears to be assigned their own birf-days, but so far we’ve resisted. After all, due to the sheer number of bears we’d need to have more than one celebration a day!
